So you have probably realized I haven’t posted in over a month. With school being over, and me being on vacation, I did very dull things! Hey, I was on vacation. But I was also planning ahead. I have been setting up my freelancing work with the Cote-des-Neiges and NDG newspaper, Actualites. It’s primarily a French paper, but it has expanded to include about four pages of English. I will be one of the English reporters for the paper. It’s ironic since more than a few community papers in Montreal recently had cutbacks to their English content. Lucky, I guess?

My first two articles are published in the latest edition of the bimonthly paper. You can find them here and here.

I have also started my job at the Canadian University Press (CUP) as Features Bureau Chief. What I do is take a look at the features from the Canadian university papers who are members of CUP, I edit them, and put them on the national wire. From there, other Canadian papers can pick up the feature to run. It gives me a chance to flex my editing muscles and to read about all these great things going on around Canada. I’m super happy to be a part of the CUP team!
