Olympic Torch Relay in Montreal

Yesterday was a busy day! After seeing Hulk, I made my way up to the Plateau to visit Dooz and Eugenia and to see the Olympic flame go by. Some say torch, some say flame…which one is it? We bundled Doozy up in his hilarious snowsuit and braved the cold and snow with the stroller. It was hard work. Plus it was windy. But it was all worth it to see the flame. It was so festive and fun and I was so proud. I can’t wait for the Olympics. I am a fiercely patriotic Canadian. I hear from the Globe and Mail in a few days about that contest, fingers crossed.

Here is a clip of the flame going by!

Dream Opportunity

logoSo I came across this contest from the Globe and Mail that is, for lack of better words, AWESOME. If I win, I will go (with a lucky friend) to Vancouver for two weeks to cover the Olympics. The Globe covers airfare, accommodation, and various Olympic event tickets. They also give you a laptop and $1000! You, in turn, have to write a minimum of five articles which could appear in the paper or online. What a dream come true.

Anybody who votes also gets a chance at winning a laptop. Anybody can vote once a day. The voting period is open until November 22. The most popular 50 are reviewed by members of the Globe editorial board who then make a decision.

So VOTE (for me…duh!)
